Virgin Atlantic has announced a spring Upper Class sale, with up-to 40 per cent off on various flights. Running until 10pm (GMT) on March 8^th, the special includes some big discounts on trans-Atlantic flights, including to New York and Boston from £1,349, between April 1 and April 9.

Other routes on offer for discount include Shanghai between March 27 and April 7 costing as little as £1,687.In addition, the airline which is owned by Sir Richard Branson, is offering 50 per cent more Flying Club miles, for members of its Flying Club programme, which some are collecting to fund a trip into orbit in 2008.

Virgin’s legendary Upper Class boasts a clubhouse at London Heathrow, where passengers can enjoy � a multi-screen cinema and a rooftop garden, as well as a business area, library, cocktail bar and beauty salon.
