Jet2.com Offers New Flights

Jet2.com, the British budget airline, has been adding new routes and flights to its network over the past week. Just last Thursday the carrier said that they are going to start offering a direct service to New York from Leeds Bradford and Newcastle airports, beginning this December. The service will be part of a package that will include 3 nights of accommodation for as little as £599 per person.

Then over the weekend, Jet2 announced the launch of their first service from Manchester to Bodrum in Turkey. This destination has become very popular, and holidaymakers have shown an overwhelming demand. The flights will operate once a week between June 23, 2011 and October 2, 2011. Tickets are already on sale, and packages are also available through Jet2holidays.

Philip Meeson, the chief executive of Jet2.com, said that travelers love the low-cost travel and beautiful beaches in Turkey, so they are happy to add Bodrum to their list of destinations. People in the region are sure to buy up the available seats, he added, as they are offering some great flight times and a 22kg baggage allowance.

This week, Jet2 also announced that they have added another service from Manchester, which will fly to the Red Sea resort in Hurghada, Egypt. Flights to this destination will start on October 15 this year, while the carrier will continue to operate existing routes next summer from Manchester to Alicante, Algrave, Ibiza, Malaga, Maidera and 4 others.

Andrew Cornish, the managing director of Manchester Airport, says that Jet2.com is expanding more and more from the airport, and they are happy to see more routes being offered to Hurghada and Bodrum. Many carriers have been expanding this year, but Jet2 has been at the forefront of development at the airport for over 5 years, he added.
