Jet chairman wins Man Of The Year
Posted on: April 14th, 2008 by Andrew MayerThe award for Man of the Year in whatever context is a familiar award for most people. The moniker is usually attached to a celebrity or a sportsman, but the aviation industry has its own version of the award, and this year the accolade of man of the Year goes to chairman of Jet Airways, Naresh Goyal. The prestige is given by the Belgian Aviation Press Club, an international community of aviation journalists that mark their 30th anniversary this year.
Naresh Goyal had this to say abot receiving his award: “I am honoured to receive this award in the first year of our activities on Brussels Airport. However, credit for my winning this award must also go to my team, as well as Brussels Airlines and Brussels Airport for whose support I am very grateful.”
The Belgians acknowledge jet Airways’ list of firsts, such as being the first Indian airline to establish a hub for itself in Brussels. Cathy Buyck presented Goyal with the award, saying, “We wish to congratulate Mr. Goyal on the successful start that he had at Brussels Airport with Jet Airways. By constructing an international hub at our national airport he has helped to put it once again on the map internationally”.
