Jet Airways, India’s largest airline in the private sector has unveiled some rather toothsome new additions to it’s flight route from New York to Mumbai, passing through Brussels. The new route opens August 5th, and will use new state-of-the-art Boeing 777 jets custom configured by Jet.

These new aircraft will have a huge draw to the first class and premiere class, as well as the economy traveller. In economy class, a new ergonomic seat will be installed, which reclines to 130 degrees and has a footrest. A new entertainment system will be available which was developed specifically for the airline by Panasonic. With 200 hours of programming, over 75 movies and the ability to create playlists from an extensive music library will be sure to keep passengers occupied during the long flight.

The big changes are with premiere class and first class. These 777’s will have on board eight first class cabins with a luxurious seat that folds out in to a 7 foot bed. There is also a flat screen monitor, a wardrobe, a credenza, and the room service offers Dom Pérignon champagne.

The premiere class won’t be far behind with their cabin luxuries, and they too will have access to a bar stocked with single malt whiskies aside from the champagne.

All this should make the 18 hours from Newark Airport to Mumbai a as pleasant as could be imagined, and if you can spare the $10,085 for a cabin, you’ll be laughing all the way to Mumbai.
