Virgin Atlantic announced that it will be adding five additional services between London Gatwick and Montego Bay in Jamaica this coming winter season. This is to accommodate the demand for such flights experienced last season.

Aside form its regularly scheduled flights every Monday and Wednesday, the five additional dates are the 22nd, 23rd and 29th of December and on the 5th and 6th of January, 2008. The flights from London will leave Gatwick at 12:30 and arrive at Sangster in Montego Bay at 18:05. The return flights will depart Sangster at 20:05 and be back in Britain at 10:15.

Virgin’s chief executive, Steve Ridgeway said, “We are thrilled to be able to add extra flights between London and Montego Bay. This route was the airline’s eighth Caribbean route introduced only last year. This route has proved to be very popular with our leisure customers and these additional flights will provide a further boost to the region’s economy, with over two thousand passengers expected to take advantage of the extra services.”

This won’t be the end of expanded services to the island of Jamaica, as Virgin Atlantic plans to expand flight service to the capital of Kingston later this year, starting on October 30th.
