Dutch airline KLM is expanding the number of entertainment options available to its passengers on it’s in-flight entertainment system on long haul flights.

KLM will be adding language lessons, audio books, a business program and complimentary text messaging and email capabilities to it’s aircrafts over the next few months.

Beginning September 1st, there will be four new programs available on long haul KLM flights. Berlitz World Traveler will be providing language lessons with an interactive format and exercises to help passengers practice before arriving at their destination.

For those who fear flying, the information channel will provide reassuring facts and figures about flying and the flight, including information on turbulence and aerodynamics.

Passengers will be able to access a library of audio books. Initially three books will be available but more will be added in the future.

Finally, the last program will focus on the global economy and business etiquette around the world.

For those who just want to kick back and enjoy the traditional offerings of movies and music, the airline is also making additions to their offerings in that department, adding new movies and games at the beginning of September.

KLM flies to a number of international destinations from its base in Amsterdam and the airline is currently offering a special for flights to Nairobi from £416, Washington from £367 and Dubai from £309 (prices include taxes).
