Travellers throughout Britain will now have to spend a lot less time wondering where they can find a wireless internet connection. Very soon, all you’ll have to do is look for those big golden arches.

America’s biggest fast food giant, McDonalds, will be providing free wireless internet access to 1,200 restaurants across the UK over the course of the upcoming year.

McDonald’s customers will be able to surf the net with their laptops, mobile phones and game consoles while chowing down on a Big Mac and slurping on their cold Cokes.

Several other fast food outlets provide wireless access, but at a fee.

Steve Easterbrook, the chief executive of McDonald’s Restaurants said: The launch of free wi-fi in our restaurants in the UK is an exciting move. We believe (it) will further enhance our customers’ experience when they visit us.”
