Hotel Guests and video games

With the interactive video game technology being what it is these days, it’s not like it used to be. Games like Guitar Hero put you on stage with a band, and various sports simulation games like tennis, where you physically serve up the ball like you would on a court.

Hotels are integrating these new interactive games into their businesses in many ways, from delivering Nintendo Wii systems to guests rooms to practice their tennis swing, to having guests mingle with each other while jamming together on a virtual stage.

Publisher Richard Siegel says, “Anything you can do to encourage interaction between guests is a good thing. People also like to be exposed to things they’ve never done before. If I was traveling (and saw fellow guests playing), I’d try it, too.”

Some high end hotels like Le Parker Meridien in New York City have preloaded games on their Wii consoles where guests can workout, play racquetball or try their boxing skills.
