Hertz Holiday Drives, the self drive sector, has decided to expand its base and set up shop on Indian shores. The hire car firm will pass on the running and maintenance of its Indian operations to the firm Discover The World Marketing(DTWM).

Hertz Holiday Drives is currently in talks with South African Airlines to see if there is a possibility to establish one of its campaigns called the Fly-Drive deal in India. They are also interested in setting up similar packages with other airlines. Travellers in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland all enjoy similar packages. USA and DTWM believe it’s the right time to create a base in India.

Semi-drive and drive with accommodation packages will be offered by DTWM. Marketing will be carried out on a business to business offering. The semi-drive offer will provide customers with cars and route suggestions and the drive with accommodation packages will provide both hotels and routes to follow when they are in the country. Some established routes are proving to be very popular in other countries such as the US. The most popular routes among them being the Great Ocean Road in Australia and Route 66 in the US.

For those customers who will face drastic road culture changes like those accustomed to driving on the other side of the road than the host country will be provided with specialised training programs. Also, travelers will be acquainted with traffic laws of the country and will be taught defensive driving. Courses will have a duration of upto fifteen days.
