Senate President Stephen Morris along with Governor Mark Parkinson were on hand to cut the ribbon at the site for the new Boot Hill Casino & Resort in Dodge City. Butler National Corporation, a large gaming management service held their grand opening for their $90 million casino, the Boot Hill Casino & Resort.

With the opening of the casino new services, opportunities and jobs will be brought into Dodge City, Kansas. The casino is anticipated to become one of the small city’s largest tourist attractions. Governor of Dodge City, Mark Parkinson, said that he believes the casino will bring world-class facilities and valuable job opportunities to the city. Currently jobs in Kansas are thinning and the casino will bring much needed employment for out-of-work labour forces.

Clark Stewart, the President and CEO of Butler National Corporation, said that the casino’s new employees had already logged months of hard man hours in anticipation for the casino’s grand opening. He added that he believes the casino will be visited by not only residents in the area but also visited by tourists from around the country.

Although the grand opening was held already, the casino will be open to the general public once a control play day has been held. The approval from the Kansas Lottery and the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission is also still pending and once that is cleared the casino can be open for free play.

The additional Phase II of the project will see a luxury hotel added with 124 guest rooms as well as an indoor pool facility. The second phase of the casino is expected to be completed by February 2012.
