Flybe continues to grow
Posted on: July 28th, 2008 by Paul FenrichWhile most carriers are reeling under high fuel costs and looking to reduce flights, Scotland based carrier, Flybe, continues to grow in strength.
The airline is going to launch 117 new flights shortly. It is introducing a new connections package, which will allow travellers to combine different flight bookings into a single transaction.
Flybe is presently operating 170 flights to 55 locations on 21 European and domestic routes.
Chief Commercial Officer of Flybe, Mike Rutter, said that their agreement with Loganair, which was announced recently, is going to further consolidate Flybe’s position. Loganair and Flybe have entered into a franchise agreement which will allow both airlines to provide expanded services to more destinations. This will also help their customers in efficient planning of their itineraries.
Flybe has recently started direct flights to Paris from Guernsey. This has boosted its position as a top carrier for the Channel Island. The airline has also signed an exclusive contract with Avis car rentals for a 3 year period. This will provide both companies in offering an integrated service to customers for their flight and car rental requirements.
On Monday, July 28, Flybe announced another major development on its road to expansion. It has partnered with Hahn Airlines to offer connecting flights on routes serviced by either airline. It also enables more than 60,000 travel agents to offer e-ticketing of Flybe flights. It provides better exposure and worldwide presence to the airline. Agents in more than 100 countries will be now able to offer e-ticketing of Flybe’s flights.
