Flights with friends on Facebook

Popular social networking website Facebook, has just launched a new application which will allow users to follow their friend’s flights across the world.

The application is called Flight Tracker and was created by FlightStats, a service which provides airline, airport and travel information to passengers across the world.

Now Facebook members can share their flight statistics, and current location. In addition they can get airport and weather information delivered directly to their profile page on Facebook.

Depending on a user’s specifications, they can send out updates on their location, address and flight information to other user’s Facebok pages, email addresses or even to a mobile phone by text message.

Conducive Technology was the mind behind the software development. Jeff Kennedy, who works for the company said: “We worked hard to build a flight tracker that supports Facebook users’ imperative to share with friends. And we feel as if we’re just beginning to tap into the potential for combining travel technology and social networking.”
