First Airbus A380 joining Emirates Airline

According to the chairman of Emirates Airline, the newer aircraft will play an important role in the growth of the airline. From the time of inception of A380’s production programme almost 8 years ago, the airline has been closely associated with Airbus Company till its futuristic plane has become a reality.
July 28 will also be an important day of 12,000 employees of Airbus in Hamburg who have been working from last 10 years in the construction of the super jumbo. The aircraft industry in Hamburg provides employment to nearly 36000 workers. Apart from Airbus, there are more than 300 medium and small aviation related companies based in Hamburg.
With its population of just over 4 million people, Hamburg has become the biggest economic hub of Germany. The GDP of the city crossed €85 billion in 2007 which was up by nearly 4 % from the previous year. It is the highest GDP for a German state. The city’s authorities have been investing its economic wealth in education, infrastructure, health and research. According to them, this will ensure future growth of the state. They intend to spend nearly €27 million in just research and development from 2006 to 2010. The city already has 300 research institutes, 72 health clinics, 4 private colleges and 15 public universities.
