Dubai has come a long way from its humble beginnings as a fishing village. Through its oil production the metropolitan emirate has grown at an alarming rate; shocking the world with its quick rise to prosperity, its current boomtown economy, and not to mention the barrage of superlative construction projects that are now beginning to attract tourists from all around the world.

With the various shopping malls, the bigger shopping malls built to replace them, the towering skyscrapers, the world’s only ‘6-star’ hotel and a discotheque made of ice; it should come as no surprise that Dubai is going for another outrageous venture.

The Dubai Infinity Holdings group plans to built the first ever fashion island, on one of the manmade islands that seem to be materializing on the shores of the city one after another.

DIH CEO Samira Abdulrazzak says, ‘Isla Moda will be acknowledged as the central fashion district of the entire Middle East and a natural home for all the world’s top fashion luminaries. It will be an innovative hub that encompasses the entire value chain of fashion and will be replicated in other Emerging Markets by transforming global fashion brands into value added real estate partners. A significant impact will be made – not only within the international real estate community, but especially within the key fashion and leisure segments.’
