Experiential holidays firm acquired by Solos Holidays

UK singles holiday company, Solo’s Holidays, has brought an expeditions specialist into the firm.

Baobab Expeditions will be the first brand operating in the firm’s Fabulous Experience Company division. The experiential holidays company offers luxury expeditions to destinations in Africa, Antarctica, the Arctic, Asia, the Galapagos, Latin America and North America.

Solo’s Fabulous Experience Company arm focuses on experiential holidays including nature, safari, ski and board and wildlife conservation. Baobab Expeditions has been named the official travel partner for a number of wildlife conservation groups, such as the Africa Foundation, the Diane Fossey Gorilla Fund International and Save the Rhino International.

Richard Pfaeffli established Baobab Expeditions in 2005. The company was recently honoured as National Geographic Magazine’s “Best Adventure Travel Company 2009”.

Andrew Williams, the managing director of Solo’s Holidays, said: “Baobab Expeditions will continue to operate under its’ own brand, but the development signals our intention for sustainable growth. This comes at a time when our business is already performing above expectations and our revenue figures above the current industry norm.”
