JetBlue Airways has been in the news a fair bit recently, and not all of it has been positive press. A recent announcement by Expedia marks a positive message and a long-term commitment between the two companies.

Expedia is, for many people, the first stop on their Internet search for flights, hotels and car rentals. Adding all JetBlue flights published fares, schedules and inventory to its own website has also been implemented on Hotwire.com. This strategic merge will initially span 5 years.

Paul Brown, president of Expedia North America was quoted as saying, “Adding JetBlue to our marketplace demonstrates Expedia’s promise to enable travelers to create and enjoy the best trip possible, at the best prices, guaranteed. We’re confident Expedia customers will enjoy JetBlue’s low prices, unique offerings and innovative product for years to come.”

With JetBlue in its database, Expedia can now offer choices with low cost carriers as well as other Major Airlines.

Brown continued, “This deal also demonstrates the compelling value Expedia provides our airline partners — low-cost carriers and full-service airlines alike — by delivering highly valuable and incremental travel shoppers, and strong brand and marketing support.”
