Eurostar will continue to cancel all train schedules between the UK capital and Brussels until Sunday. The move follows Monday’s collision between two trains close to the Belgian capital, which left at least 18 people dead.

Eurostar reasoned that local emergency and investigation teams are still at the crash site, and are expected to stay there for few more days. As an outcome, no train service was able to pass the disaster area. However, services between London and the French capital are operating normally, and there are limited schedules between Eurostar’s London station and Lille.

A statement from Eurostar told that passengers going to Brussels are advised to cancel or reschedule their journeys. However for those travellers whose trip is essential, Eurostar has provided a regular shuttle service between Lille and Brussels. And for passengers who are originating from Belgium and are travelling towards the UK, a bus going to Lillie is available at Brussels Midi station.

Starting 22 February, the train operator will be able to provide three return services between London and Brussels over a temporary route that will add at least 50 minutes to the usual journey time. It is also likely that from 26 February, the number of train services will be somewhat increased, although full operation will resume not until 2 March.

The number of services for London-Lille-London route will also be raised this coming Monday, though there will be a number of minor delays on several services. So passengers for Lille or Brussels are advised to read further information at Eurostar’s website for more updated news.
