Europe as seen by Tripadvisor
Posted on: March 12th, 2008 by Dave BessThe largest travel community online today is Tripadvisor.com. The website wields significant sway in its reviews and findings. This week the site released its results of its annual European travel survey. The survey wrapped after taking information from over 1,400 surveyees.
Mirroring last year’s results, five percent of those surveyed said they would return to Europe next year, and half of the Americans surveyed said they would return next year as well, despite the US dollar and its economical swan dive.
The survey showed that the busiest month for European travel is September, with thirty percent of respondents saying they’d try to visit during of-peak times to save money. Over half of travellers said they expect to spend more money on their European vacations this year.
According to the survey, the best cities in Europe to find bargains are Prague, Budapest and Lisbon. While the most expensive cities in Europe are London, Paris and Rome. S far as friendly locals go, the top cities were found to be Dublin, Amsterdam and London. The best cuisine was found in Paris, Rome and Florence, and the best shopping was in Paris, London and Rome.
