EasyJet Comes to the Rescue for Flyglobespan Passengers

In the wake of the announcement that Flyglobespan was suspending all of its flights after being forced into administration. Easyjet, the UK’s largest budget airline, has increased their offer to rescue stranded Flyglobespan passengers in order to aid them in making it home in time for the holidays.

The budget airline is now expanding their rescue package to include Portugal, France, Switzerland, the Balearics, and Mainland Spain. For passengers trapped in these locations easyJet will offer a special £60 (including taxes) rescue fee so that any leftover passengers abroad can get home by the Christmas eve holiday. The offer is good for any UK airport up until the 24th of December.

The airline is also offering an additional rescue package for Cyprus, Madeira, and the Canaries for a special rate of £80 (including taxes). This offer is also available for all UK airports until December 24. However, passengers have been told that any travel from the airport onwards must be arranged by them.

Previously easyJet had already extended a rescue scheme to all Flyglobespan passengers to travel for a small additional fee on any overlapping routes the airline has with Flyglobespan. These routes include Malaga, Alicante, and Faro to Glasgow, as well as Geneva to Edinburgh. This offer applies to December 30, and is available for £60 (including taxes).

Passengers of Flyglobespan are encouraged to call easyJet’s customer service in order to take advantage of the offer, but are advised to have their Flyglobespan booking number ready to provide for the agent.

Flyglobespan went into administration last week after a funding package from Halycon Inc did not come through in time to bail the company out of it’s financial woes.
