Eastern Airways connects Southampton to Durham Tees Valley
Posted on: October 9th, 2009 by Doug SmithBeginning November 2 this year, Eastern Airways will launch a new service to Southampton, operating from the Durham Tees Valley Airport.
The launch will see Durham Tees Valley get two new scheduled services every weekday. Designed to be especially helpful to business travellers, the flights will take off from Durham Tees Valley at 06:45 am and 16:55 hrs, arriving in Southampton at 8:40 am and 18:50 hrs respectively. The flights originating from Southampton will depart at 9:10 am and 19:20 hrs, touching down at Durham Tees Valley at 10:55 am and 21:05 hrs.
This would allow business travellers to get to either destination in the morning, and return the same evening should they want to. Fares on the new route will start from £69 for a one-way journey, inclusive of taxes and charges.
Chris Holliday, chief operating officer for Eastern Airways says the airline will be providing the fastest link between the two destinations.
The airline has operated out of the Durham Tees Valley Airport for over nine years, and its existing schedule from the airport includes four daily flights to Aberdeen.
The regional airline has also recently announced an increased schedule of flights to Norway, departing from Aberdeen and Newcastle airports. Easter Airways introduced a new Aberdeen to Stavanger link from Mondays to Wednesdays, and an extra Stavanger to Aberdeen connection from Mondays to Thursdays, from October 5, 2009. Also announced was a new Sunday connection between Stavanger and Newcastle, beginning October 11, 2009.
