Direct Line Insurance is offering travellers who must pass through Heathrow’s Terminal 5 important advice. One of the leading travel insurance companies in the UK, Direct Line has some solutions for travellers which may help reduce the impact of the current problems plaguing Heathrow’s newest addition.

Unfortunately, the advice comes too late for many travellers who have already suffered extremely serious delays in their luggage or had their bags lost.

The head of Travel Insurance for Direct Line, Chris Price, said: “Representatives from our travel insurance team are available to respond to calls from our customers. Our priority over the coming days is to provide our customers with help and advice on how to process claims as quickly as possible.

“The problems at Terminal Five have highlighted the importance of purchasing travel insurance, as arriving at a destination without your baggage can be a huge inconvenience and be costly to replace. Having travel insurance can offer that extra peace of mind should the unexpected happen.”

Travellers are advised to clearly label their baggage and verify that all their labels have correct and updated contact details. Before travelling, travellers should become familiar with their airline’s baggage policy and ensure that their bags are the correct dimensions and weight before leaving for the airport.
