Czech once again most punctual
Posted on: June 1st, 2008 by Darren RobinsonThe national air carrier of the Czech Republic has once again achieved the title of the most punctual airline in Europe. During this year’s first quarter, Czech Airlines came in first place among the 27 major carriers of Europe when it came to flights arriving and taking off on time. This is the second year in a row the carrier has led the pack in punctuality.
This marks a significant improvement, as the airline stood at number 20 as recently as 2003. It climbed fast to 6th pace in 204 and 2005, and Czech was 4th in 2006. Over 17,000 flights departed the country’s international airport in the capital city of Prague, with the gross majority of both European and overseas flights leaving on time or within 15 minutes of the scheduled departure time. IN the first quarter of 2008, Czech Airlines carried over 1 and an half million passengers, which fits with its consistent capacity expansion of 2.6 percent per year.
