Cruisy 2007 for Carnival cruise lines in the Caribbean
Posted on: August 7th, 2007 by Dave Bess2007 has been a record breaking year for Carnival Cruise Lines, one of the most preeminent cruise lines in the Caribbean. In the 35 year history of the company, 2007 will see the highest number of passengers ever for a summer cruise season, with 2.9 million holidaymakers signing up for a berth on a Carnival ship.
The Caribbean has always been synonymous with cruise vacations, and new statistics from Cruise Lines International has confirmed that it is indeed the premier destination for the cruising class.
Carnival’s senior vice president Vicki Freed commented on the incredible season: “The Caribbean offers everything that consumers want in a vacation – picture perfect weather, gracious hospitality, unique sightseeing experiences, great shopping and, of course, gorgeous beaches. But there’s more to the Caribbean than great beaches – this is one of the most culturally diverse regions in the world, with a rich history dating back centuries, magnificent architecture, and historical attractions and landmarks.”
The growth of the cruise line continues when what Carnival calls the largest ‘fun ship’ in the world will be revealed next year. The 3,006-passenger vessel will operate from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in the US and will dock in San Juan, St. Thomas, Nassau, casa de Campo, some of the most popular destinations in the region.
