If you are a fan of cruise ship vacations you are in luck.  Holland America Line has hinted at the possibility of counting Southampton as one of its ports of call.  Recently Holland America Line has launched a new ship named Eurodam off of the South coast of England in Southampton.

Over a thousand travel agents were recently guests on board the Eurodam and treated to an overnight stay to launch the new cruise ship.  During their stay travel agents were invited to attend seminars regarding the ship and its features.
The ship will be officially named in Rotterdam by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.

Holland America Line has fourteen ships and has been considering the possibility of using Southampton England as a possible base for one of its cruise ships.  While no official plans are in the works the company is considering the option and would like to see the idea become a reality.  Lynn Narraway, the UK managing director, has stated “One of the questions I was asked the most by travel agents was when are we going to bring a ship to the UK.  There has been no commitment but there is always a possibility, although it won’t be next year.  I hope before I retire that there will be a HAL ship sailing out of Southampton!”

Sales have been doing well for the cruise ship Eurodam after the ten day festivities that officially launched    Holland America Line’s newest edition.
