A new online marketing program launched by Carnival Cruise Lines is paying off. According to John Heald, the senior cruise director for Carnvial, two of the company’s websites, FunShipIsland.com and CarnvialConnections.com, have each attracted more than a million visitors.

According to statistics from the company, 90 per cent of Americans are unfamiliar with the cruise ship experience. As a result, the new Carnival websites are designed to be as interactive as possible in order to give them a taste of what cruising is all about.

The websites help customers plan and book cruises as well as showing them what they can expect from a cruise with Carnival.

From Tampa, Florida, Carnival operates two cruise ships which travel through the Western Caribbean: the Miracle and the Inspiration.

Additionally, John Heald writes a travel blog, posting first hand accounts of cruises from his experiences as a cruise director. His blog has become extremely popular and is ranked in the top 25 fairly consistently.

Carnival is based in Miami and is now one of the largest cruise lines in the world. The company operates a total of 22 ships currently cruising the waters of the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Mexico, New England, Canada, the Greek Isles, South America and other locations.
