UK travellers looking for a bit of ‘spin’ on their holiday can head to Croatia in a couple of years or so, when the world’s first revolving hotel is scheduled to be opened.

The hotel is being designed by British architect Richard Hywel Evans. The architect works with Studio RHE, which specialises in holiday resort designing.

The revolving hotel is set to be built on Solta island, off the Croatian coast. The project is estimated to cost around £70 million, and will see a steel turntable support the rotating section of the hotel.

The architect has said prospective guests need not worry about being dizzy, as the rotation is planned for a very slow speed. The rotating section with spin 1.3 times in 24 hours, and guests will not actually feel it move.

The hotel is expected to have three storeys, and will stand in the middle of a purpose-built lake. An underground entrance will escort guests to the hotel, as they make their way from a static reception area seventy-two feet across from the lake.

They will then take a lift which will lead them to a walkway, which in turn will guide them to the spinning section, where their accommodation will be located. The hotel, which does not yet have a name, is expected to have 50 suites. There will also be a marina and a yacht club attached to the property, and for guests who want to stay firmly in one spot, there will be static villa accommodation also provided.
