Citroën Relays delivered to Sixt

Sixt Rent a Car recently received their first major order of Citroën Relay vans. Twenty of the Relay 35 L4H2 120 panel vans arrived at the company. The vans are the largest models available in the new range of Relay vehicles.

Richard Hague, Sixt Rent a Car’s head of fleet, explained the company’s decision to buy these particular vans: “Sixt’s initial experience with smaller Relays has shown that these vans are easy to drive, own and very popular with our customers.  We liked the look of the big Relay, which we consider to be a good substitute for a Luton van. Our Licensee network, United Rental System, has been using the new Citroen Relay since UK launch and we’ve had excellent feedback regarding its performance on fleet.”

There were several factors behind Sixt Rent a Car’s decision to go with this particular brand and model of van. The van has strong residual values and has a standard fitting for satellite navigation. Sixt has a policy for fitting out all of its vehicles with satellite navigation, so the Trafficmaster Smartnav fitting on the Relays really appealed. In addition, the vans have a long load deck (4,070 mm), a large load compartment (15 cu.m) and a high payload.

The vans will be mostly based at the Sixt branches in the Greater London area. It is expected that the vans will be a part of the fleet for about two years, during which time they are expected to cover some 50,000 miles on the job.
