Chinese officials clarify terror threat

After yesterday’s news of a probable terrorist attack on a plane bound for Beijing for China’s remote western front, the lack of coherent media reports within China led to much speculation by western media, and today the chief of Xinjiang forcefully clarified the assumptions that the story of the terrorist threat, that involved a Muslim Uighur ethnic group perpetrator, were manufactured.

Xinjiang chief Nuer Baikell said, “I notice that there was some irresponsible reporting by foreign media and some so-called politicians and academics. They expressed doubts that this was probably some incident created by the Chinese Communist Party in an attempt to crack down on certain ethnic groups. I am very angry.”

Even if the attack was authentic, the fact that the 19-year old woman who carried the as yet undisclosed liquid on to the plane did so quite blatantly in a bottle of mineral water, something that airport security had banned but failed to enforce.
