Carriers to increase capacity to narrow gap created by Flyglobespan
Posted on: December 23rd, 2009 by Dave BessNew flights were added at Glasgow airport in order to accommodate the customers who had booked flights with the now grounded carrier Flyglobespan. The collapse of the carrier was responsible for many passengers being stranded in many countries across Europe.
However, in an effort to accommodate all the passengers, carriers Thomson, Thomas Cook and others have announced that they are going to increase their capacity from Glasgow Airport.
Many passengers who were due to return for Christmas may still find themselves home only by the 25th. They have been advised to rebook their flight. The collapse of Flyglobespan altered travel plans for many travelers visiting countries.
Glasgow Airport has announced a statement affirming that they believe that their first priority was to assist travelers returning back home and the airport would also allow them the option to travel further in case required. The grand gesture from the three largest airlines has resulted in increased bookings from Glasgow airport in the immediate winter and coming summer as well.
Due to severe weather conditions faced by Britain in the last couple of days, Glasgow Airport has advised all passengers to enquire incase the airline reports a change in plan. Heavy snow and sub zero conditions has prompted many airlines in cancelling flights and suspending services.
