Carrentals.co.uk, the leading online car hire comparator, has started hosting a video challenge on YouTube to find the best video clip with a car theme that participants can make. This competition has been named ‘The Carrentals.co.uk Video Challenge’, and it is free for anyone to enter.

The competition will be going on from now until September 30, 2010, so anyone that wants to participate will have almost 2 months to create a car-related video that is no longer than a minute-and-a-half. They will then need to upload the clip to their own YouTube account and then submit it to the Carrentals.co.uk YouTube page before the competition end date. All of the videos submitted will be reviewed for approval and posted to the challenge page for others to watch until the end of the competition.

After the end date, Carrentals.co.uk will then judge each of the approved videos to announce a winner on October 14, 2010. The victor will then receive a 16GB Apple iPad for their efforts. The video that places second in the contest will earn its creator £50 worth of John Lewis vouchers, while whoever made the third place video will be given £25 worth of shopping vouchers.

Carrentals.co.uk managing director Gareth Robinson says, “We know what an important role video plays on the Internet these days, which is why we wanted to bring together a selection of the best car-related clips for people to watch all in one place. The videos can be on anything relating to cars, but have to make the Carrentals judges laugh and they must be legal, safe and comply with all terms and conditions for the entrant to be in with a chance of winning an iPad.”
