Carnival builds aqua park on cruise liner
Posted on: January 29th, 2008 by Charlotte FellowsCarnival Cruise Lines has some extensive renovation plans for its 2,052 passenger superliner, the Carnival Fantasy, that include a water park on deck that will be installed over a 35-day construction period.
The Carnival Waterworks Aqua Park will include a 300-fot long waterslide, a new main pool and an adults-only area for those out to relax instead of being splashed by cannonballing pre-teens. The improvements to the ship will cost the company $250 million, and this will be the third ship they will deck out with their ‘Evolutions of Fun’ scheme.
Ruben Rodriguez, executive vice president for marketing and guest experience at Carnival says, “Carnival Fantasy – already a fantastic cruise vacation option from New Orleans, one of America’s great cities – will be even better following the implementation of our incredible new ‘Evolutions of Fun’ features.”
The Carnival Fantasy ship sails the Caribbean year-round from its base in New Orleans, Louisiana. When the ship is completed, it will offer the most advanced services and entertainment to ever sail the azure Caribbean seas.
