Brussels Airlines has commissioned Lufthansa Systems to power its revenue account procedures with Lufthansa’s Sirax Air Finance Platform. Lufthansa, an IT service company will fit in Sirax, SiraxCredit and the freshly launched Sirax View systems at Brussels Airlines and execute the programmes from its data zone. With this begins a business partnership of five years between Lufthansa and Brussels, the Belgian airline. Lufthansa will also be providing the same technical expertise to the Congolese airline, airDC which has been founded by Brussels airline.

Spokesperson for Brussels Airline, Vanessa Rentiers stated that the company invested in fresh processes to enable accounting procedures that are open to scrutiny, improve the quality of data and make the entire system more flexible. The company selected Lufthansa’s Sirax after much deliberation, according to Rentiers and with the confidence that Sirax would meet the requirements at Brussels perfectly.   A crucial point in favour of Lufthansa, according to Brussels’ spokespersons was its comprehensive range of services that covered implementation, customising, operations and support.

Lufthansa Revenue Services played an important role in conceptualising the Sirax revenue account module. This module coordinates and operates an airline’s revenue procedures by generating a completely self-operating match of tickets that have been sold vis a vis real airline data. The module is equipped with sub-processes that are integrated and ensure that interline flights across airlines are billed. This gives the airline the advantage of quick calculation of actual income.  Brussels Airlines is the first client to have signed up to use SiraxView which is the very latest offering from Sirax AirFinance platform.
