British Airways in Shane Warne’s Twitter Fury
Posted on: July 6th, 2010 by Bobby V-JonesAustralian Shane Warne, a cricket star, has let out a bundle of fury on Twitter, criticizing a flight with British Airways. He was traveling first class on a transatlantic flight from London to Las Vegas last week for the Ante Up for Africa poker tournament. Via tweets, he complained that the journey was uncomfortable and had bad service, called the crew arrogant and rude, and vowed never to fly with the carrier again.
Warne slammed the captain while he told the passengers in which direction they would be taking off and how high they would be flying, telling him to ‘just shut up’. He also blamed the seat pattern for being able to smell a fellow passenger’s bad breath, adding that he hates British Airways.
Warn also criticized the cabin crew for talking to a family in front of him like they were criminals (his perception). He said that the staff was rude and obnoxious, calling the way they treated and spoke to passengers a disgrace.
Also during the flight, the captain had to apologize for the air conditioning, which stopped working. Warne told the captain to ‘SHUT UP’ and said that this could seriously be one of the worst experiences he’s ever had in the air. In his final post about the flight, he said that the ‘trip sucks’.
A spokesman for British Airways said that they pride themselves on their customer service levels and are worried about this lapse. The carrier will be investigating the issues that have been raised, he added.
