A recent poll by the online company SeatGuru.com has awarded Virgin Atlantic with the accolade of the airline with the best amenities flying today. The results were taken from over 1,600 passengers who were asked to rank their preference of airlines’ in-flight entertainment systems and services. While Virgin Atlantic came first for its amenities, the airline that’s never far from the top of any list, Singapore Airlines ranked first for the quality of their food.

One statistic from the survey that should come as no surprise is that 44 percent of those surveyed said that the seat-mounted plasma screen was the most important feature of their in-flight entertainment experience, while 26 percent say that a full meal is their number one consideration when choosing an air carrier.

SeatGuru spokesman Matt Daimler said that, “At the end of the day, a TV dinner is all flyers are really asking for.” This may hold true for economy fliers, but with the new first-class trend of hiring celebrity chefs, the needs of passengers between the flight classes seems to be further divided that ever before.

No surprise here at all, each time I have flown with this airline the service has been second to none in all aspects, right the way to the toilet hygeine!

Never flown with Singapore Airlines so can’t vouch for their “best food” award. Wouldn’t surprise me as I always hear the best reports about them too.
