BA to highlight Malaga flights and attractions
Posted on: December 22nd, 2009 by Dave BessKeith Chuter, Online and Direct Sales Manager of British Airways (BA), and Malaga Mayor Francisco De La Torre signed a business plan to further endorse the city of Malaga into the UK market.
The two-year agreement will see BA use its online channels to highlight the many flight schedules available between Malaga and the UK, and to further boost tourism in the Spanish city. The signed contract, positioned to commence in early 2010, will incorporate a two-phase marketing strategies – namely media and advertising campaigns.
BA is planning to expand its online channels, and to develop ad campaigns to strongly promote and sell Malaga. Two familiarization trips will be scheduled to highlight the city’s cultural and historical attractions, year-round events, extraordinary cuisines and drinks, and prestigious hotels.
The UK national air carrier currently operates 12 weekly flights between the UK and Malaga. It also offers a wide range of hotels, from the three-star Atarazanas Malaga Boutique Hotel to the four-star Petit Palace Plaza – ideally situated in the historic city centre. For added convenience, BA also offers car hire service in Malaga.
It is hoped that BA’s partnership with Malaga Council of Tourism will not only persuade travellers to use the route but will also encourage tourists to discover the city and its rich heritage.
BA flies travellers to various destinations and offers wide range of services, including hotel and car rental bookings. The airline also has online service for travellers who want to save money and time when booking ATOL-protected holiday packages.
