After a disastrous opening for London Heathrow International Airport’s Terminal 5, operations have hit their stride, and BAA and British Airways have announced that the next set of international flights to be transferred to Terminal 5 will happen in June. Eight long-haul British Airways flights that currently fly from Terminal 4 will transfer to T5; London to Phoenix, Cape Town, Lagos, Beijing, Cairo, Abuja and New York’s JFK International. All routes are flown daily except JFK, which has eight daily departures.

This group of routes will account for roughly a quarter of the traffic at Terminal 5, and Willie Walsh, chief executive of BA says,“As we announced on April 11, we will move our Terminal 4 long-haul programme into Terminal 5 in phases. We have taken this decision in the interests of customers, who remain our priority at all times. Terminal 5 is now working well, and we are pleased we can confirm our plan to move in some additional flights on June 5.”
