BA’s website voted the best

British Airways, the flagship carrier for the UK, has been told it has the best performing airline website in the country. The statistics were gathered by NetCallidus, a Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) company.

Although Virgin Atlantic is considered the second largest carrier in terms of its turnover, its website traffic had it placed fifth in the league table prepared by the analysts at NetCallidus.

The table compared the market share of each airline by turnover to their online traffic levels.

According to NetCallildus, BA is outperforming its competition on several levels. With a turnover of £8,753 million, it is attracting real time customers while its website is considered the 139th most popular in the country.

The findings placed easyJet in second place behind BA. In terms of turnover, the company reported £1,797 million and was found to be the 149th most favourite website in the UK.

Thomas Cook Group ranked fourth in the ratings, slightly behind Thomson (TUI). TUI has a turnover of £1017 million compared to Thomas Cook Group’s turnover of £1785 million. Bmi was declared the sixth most high performing airline website in the country, followed by Jet2.com, Flybe, Monarch Airlines and XL.
