Avis to go electric
Posted on: March 3rd, 2010 by Andrew BonesIn today’s world, many people are looking at ways that they can help conserve the environment. In many households across the country, one can often see different coloured bins that are set out for recycling. In homes, people are looking at ways they can stop wasting energy, turning the tap when they brush their teeth, switching off lights when they are not in the room and keeping the fridge and freezer not overstocked. Another way people look at helping the world we live in is by how we get about doing our daily running of our life. Car hire is becoming a popular way to do this and with so many firms to choose from one can get some great deals.
It is not all about the best deal to suit one’s budget, and a handful of firms have taken the step to list what each car’s CO2 emissions are. You can look at this and decide do you really need that automobile or could you go for something a little less trendy. If you go for the big one you can pay extra to offset your carbon footprint, but why bother with the gas-guzzler? Avis will be launching a range of electric vehicles from Nissan within the next two years. This is seen as the next step in an environmentally conscious world of car rentals. There will be four models available once they are out and although the prices have yet to be set, it could be a healthier option to travel around with a car rental.
