Another UK link for Ryanair
Posted on: March 4th, 2008 by Dave BessIreland’s low-cost airline Ryanair has been busy expanding its network all over Europe for the last few years, and its latest addition is going to be a twice-daily flight between the southern city of Bournemouth to the Scottish capital of Edinburgh.
The service will take flight from September 23rd, and this means that Ryanair will have two ‘double-daily’ routes to Scotland’s two principal cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Chief executive of Dorset Business Peter Scott thinks this is a win-win situation. He said, “This new Ryanair route will be of real value to the increasing number of businesses in the region who have clients and customers in Scotland. This now means that both Glasgow and Edinburgh will be accessible from Bournemouth as a day return destination.”
Ryanair will use its new Bournemouth base for other flights as well, and as Lorna Farren, communications executive a Ryanair says, “We’re delighted to announce yet another new route from Bournemouth to Edinburgh. With just over one month to go until the launch of our new Bournemouth base, more than 25,000 passengers have already snapped up bargains on our new routes to Malaga, Murcia, Nantes, Palma and Wroclaw.”
