Just when you thought Bangkok couldn’t handle any more hotels, Carlson announces that it has teamed up with VCAL Business Group Thailand to co-operate a new Radisson hotel located in one of Bangkok’s prominent business districts. The hotel is scheduled to open in late 2008, and is one of seven hotels Carlson has on the go in Thailand. Carlson Hotels Worldwide president and managing director Martin Rinck says,

“Thailand is a top priority for expansion, along with India and China, as we focus on increasing our presence in key gateway cities and resort destinations across the region. Bangkok is the country’s most important business and tourism destination and this hotel is being developed in one of the best locations in the city, adjacent to the city’s prime financial and commercial offices.”

Chairman of VCAL Business Group Apichai Taechaubol says, “The primary target market for the hotel will be the international business traveller. Aside from the strategic location in the city’s key commercial area with headquarters of major foreign financial institutions, the Sathorn district also houses a number of foreign embassies.”
