Alicia Keys who is usually known for her understated, gracious demeanor caught the UK off-guard this week when she turned down a free stay at a famous London hotel in Knightsbridge. The singer is in the UK to promote her upcoming album The Element of Freedom.

Initially it was reported that Ms. Keys was delighted to be offered the free stay at one of London’s most posh hotels. The Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel originally offered Ms. Keys three-nights free of in charge in their poshest suite, however once Ms. Keys saw the suite she reportedly turned down their offer and left the hotel.

In preparation for Ms. Keys arrival, the hotel staff had arranged the suite with all of her favourite things such as flowers, scents, and other goodies. Additionally, the hotel shut down their Rib Room entrance for her arrival at the request of her bodyguards.

However, when Ms. Keys arrived at the hotel and was taken to the Luxury Suite, she allegedly requested a larger room. When hotel staff informed the singer that the Luxury Suite was their nicest and largest suite, she said she did not get a good vibe from the hotel and promptly left in a limo with her entourage.

Currently Ms. Keys is sitting high at the top of the UK music charts with her hit single off of Jay-Z’s Empire State of Mind album. Ms. Keys, normally known for her sweet nature, displayed a rare diva moment when she turned down what was a generous £5,000 offer.
