Air Southwest Joins Surf Festivities this Year
Posted on: July 27th, 2008 by Katy DaviesEconomy airline Air Southwest has confirmed its sponsorship of White Stuff Surf Relief Festival, scheduled to take place in July 2008. The surf event that will take place at Watergate Bay, Cornwall, is also partnered by its official airline Newquay Cornwall Airport. One of the teams participating in the event is also being sponsored by Newquay Cornwall Airport. The surf festival which was launched only last year at North Cornwall promises to be a lively one with pro-surfing and life-saving events, family games and live music performances. The festival aims to generate funds that will support Surf Relief UK, a charitable organization that provides surfing opportunities to disadvantaged children.
David Manley, a senior spokesperson associated with The White Stuff Surf Relief Festival expressed gladness at the decision of support from Air Southwest. A great number of visitors from all over UK were anticipated, he said, given the proximity of Newquay Cornwall Airport. The event organizers were looking forward to a splendidly successful taking place, given the backing of such distinguished sponsors.
Mike Coombes, senior representative of Air Southwest remarked that the decision to support the surf event was a natural follow-through of the airline’s fully booked summer season at Newquay Cornwall Airport. Given the increased number of flights from Air Southwest, it was a sound decision to be associated with a popular and respected event.
Air Southwest is one of the more successful airlines operating through Newquay Cornwall Airport to 8 cities across UK. It has recently added the cities of Glasgow, Newcastle and Cork to its kitty.
