One Air France jet nearly collided with another over Paris yesterday due to what many allege was a pilot showing off to a young boy who was allowed into the cockpit. While most airlines have forbidden any passengers to enter the cockpit of an aircraft after the terrorist attacks in the United States on September 11th, 2001, a 13-year old boy was seen entering the cockpit shortly before flight AF 1669 was scheduled to land in the French capital. The plane swerved sharply to the left, and then corrected itself before climbing a sharp 10,000 feet to avoid another plane.

40-year old passenger Shaun Robinson said, “Suddenly the pilot made a sharp turn to the left, without warning, and then back again, obviously showing the young French boy how he flew his plane. Gasps could be heard throughout the rest of the cabin. Moments later, the pilot threw his plane into a steep climb. We could hear alarms sounding. The two crew members sitting in front of me had terror written across their faces and were gripping their chairs.”

Air France representatives say they will be launching a full investigation.
