Airbus has been going through a review of its production and delivery schedule these past weeks, something the company said was figured into its development scheme from the get-go, but something that speculators see as a way to clearly assess not if there will be a delay on deliveries of A380s, but how long the delay will actually be. There are currently four Airbus A380 superjumbo jets operating long haul commercial flights and they are performing well. There are 7 jets in various stages of construction, and those scheduled for a 2008 delivery have been completed.

The delays spoken of refer to the rolling over from phase 1 to phase 2, as phase 1 has taken more time and resources than originally expected. The delays are not terminal, as the projections change from 13 to 12 deliveries in 2008 and 21 instead of 25 deliveries in 2009. The review has not released an y financial information regarding the delays- either how it will affect Airbus or the airlines waiting for the planes.

I’m rubbing my hands together in anticipation and have been for a few years now.

    Can’t wait!
