A spoonful of tolerance helps absurdity go down
Posted on: July 24th, 2007 by Dave BessThere is a new museum that has just opened in the state of Kentucky in the United States that defies 21st century logic and holds fast to an archaic worldview based in conjecture and a book so contradictive and mismatched that no historian would dare quote it as a source.
Is it the newest branch of the Walt Disney Empire? No- it is called ‘The Creation Museum’. The Creation Museum finds itself southwest of Cincinnati, Ohio, and has recently welcomed guest number 100,000 in this $27 million ode to an antiquated and telescopic worldview.
Whether intended as irony or not, the information was released to the public that the 60,00 square foot facility that spits in the face of science was indeed designed by an acclaimed theme-park artist, who has built a giant wooden ark and installed huge animatronic dinosaurs. The real attraction will be to see how they explain the nudging in of dinosaurs into the bible, which creationists claim appeared at the same time as the rest of the land animals, but somehow chose not to eat any of them.
The obviously well educated museum officials claim that their collection of fossils; and thus ALL fossils were created at exactly the same period, after Noah packed the animals two by two onto the ark and the world flooded.
If the flourishing of this museum tells us anything, perhaps it is that the bible may have got one thing right after all: The end is nigh.
