A Bordeaux culinary renaissance

But these days, a region of the country more known for its bountiful wine production is stealing the capital’s thunder as far as fine modern dining goes.
Bordeaux is currently undergoing a bit of a renaissance, and a handful of first-class chefs are making it happen. Celebrity chef Jean-Marie Amat has set up shop here, showing the French gastronomists that Bordeaux isn’t messing around. The menus that await the lucky visitors to his new restaurant, in the Chateau du Prince Noir.
Lunch menus start from 30 euros, which can be seen as a little on the cheap side for such a notorious chef. The restaurant also offers a good selection of local wines for only 5 euros a glass. Even the diners start from 49 euros, making the best food in town relatively accessible to other patrons than those who live in chateaus of their own.
