£250 fine for air rager in Aberdeen
Posted on: February 21st, 2008 by Neill ZerkWhen graphic designer Andre Lecointe-Gayle missed his Luton flight my a matter of minutes in Aberdeen, Scotland, his temper flared and his behaviour has landed him a £250 fine.
Lecointe-Gayle had taken a bus to the airport with plenty of time to spare to catch his 7:50 pm flight, but a car accident en route delayed the bus and he arrived at the airport just after his flight had left. When his pleas to the check-in clerk failed to get him on the flight, he lost his temper and began to shout at the employee when she told him there was no way she could get him on the flight. The woman said that in 11 years of working in the industry she had never been reduced to tears by an irate passenger. Lecointe-Gayle was also accused of resisting arrest when he went on trial yesterday, with officers testifying that he would “simply not take no for an answer”.

These graphic designer-types do expect the earth when it comes to the service industry, if in 11 years the member of staff has never been reduced to tears by an angry passenger, then Mr.gayle must have one hell of a temper.

Sounds like a stupid idiot to me, relax, take a deep breath and be patient. Air rage, road rage, all rages are taken very seriously nowadays. You have to accept and wait your turn. If you’re late how can it be the airlines fault? you have to allow for things like accidents and so forth.

Staff can also be very arrogant mind you but that’s no excuuse to lose control, especially a graphic designer.

What a fool unto himself, does he think he’s in his office barking orders when he’s queuing to check in?
