17 Ramadas to be developed in Canada
Posted on: May 12th, 2008 by Rosie Vaughan-JonesThe Markham, Ontario-based company Days Hospitality, Inc. already owns and operates Ramada Inn hotels in the Western Canadian cities of Vancouver, Prince George and Calgary has announced it will develop 17 more Ramada Inn properties in Central and Eastern Canada over the next ten years.
New hotels are planned for Ontario, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Chief operating officer of Days Hospitality Scott McPhail says that it decided on the Ramada brand of hotels due to the fact that the Ramada Inn name is “positioned as a global leader in midmarket lodging and emphasizes the importance of service, product quality and high standards.”
In Western Canada, another development that will see a new 30 hotels open throughout the western provinces has been set in motion by Drumheller, Alberta-based Canalta. Ramada Inn brand senior vice president Mark Young says, “We are focused on growing and strengthening the Ramada brand. This agreement with Days Hospitality is a testimony to that commitment. Our growth in Canada, Asia and Europe demonstrates the brand’s increasing success.”
