If you are staying in Bedford during your UK vacation and you want to see some of the best transport museums in the land, then going to the Stondon Transport Museum is a must. Located a short 29 minutes away from Bedford, the museum is where you want to be to see classic cars of the modern day as well as those that were made in the beginning of the century.

There are more than 350 cars on display in the museum most of which came from the largest private collection that could be found in the UK. However, a number of recent acquisitions have also been added to the collection. One of the highlights of the museum is the reconstruction of the life-size replica of the world renowned H.M. Bark Endeavor from the 1768 voyage of Lieutenant James Cook.

The museum is comprised of five halls, each holding fascinating collections. A majority of the exhibited vehicles are displayed under cover for the convenience of visitors. They are also set into a compact arrangement to do away with a lot of walking for the more aged visitors. To know more about each vehicle, you can read the brief description attached to each vehicle on display. The museum staff is also on hand to answer you queries about the vehicles in the collection.
