The public transportation system in the city of Florence is very well supported by bus services, and one of these is the ATAF bus lines. This bus service offers an extensive network of routes that cover the entire city, with buses running very frequently, that is, once every 30 minutes. However, if you are traveling between 7pm to 11pm, you should expect the buses to come once every hour, which is still convenient, as you can plan your bus journeys.

The ATAF bus company also offers a tourist bus that will take you to 15 stops in the city that are of interest to tourists. These stops include San Marco, Tintori, Piazzale, Machiavelli, Tournabuoni and Unita, among others. The bus driver will give you enough time to explore the attractions at each stop.

Bus passes and tickets for boarding the buses of ATAF can be bought at the company’s ticket booth in Piazza Stazione, where you can also get hold of the bus schedule. Tobacconist shops, hotels and selected shops are also authorized to sell these tickets and passes. For late night trips starting from 9pm to 6am, you can get your late night tickets directly from the bus driver. One thing to remember when you board an ATAF bus is that you have to make sure that your tickets are time-stamped at the machines that can be found inside the buses.
